After baffling incidents of chopping of hair have been reported from the Delhi-NCR region, the police has managed to crack its first case according to a Hindustan Times report.
Recently, a 14-year-old girl from the Sanjay Gandhi Jhuggi in south Delhi’s Dakshinpuri complained that she found her chopped hair on her clothes, but did not see anyone do it. Turns out, her younger brother and nephew had “pranked” her.
DCP (south-east) told HT that a police team went to probe the matter. They spoke with the girl’s neighbours and relatives who informed them about the boys and their prank.
The case has been closed now, said the officer.
These mysterious cases have prompted people to opt for bizarre methods to “ward off evil” and speculate who could be behind them. It also led to the alleged lynching of an elderly woman in a Agra village where locals thought she was a “witch” and was chopping women’s hair.
