Most children in the age group of 5 to 9 years from a cluster of tribal villages in Udaipur district of Rajasthan did not attend school.
All that changed when two youth, Sonu Meena and Ramlal, from the village decided to revamp an abandoned building of the Forest Department into a makeshift school, Hindustan Times reported.
Since then, the building has been buzzing with around 100 children.
Meena and Ramlal teach children alphabets and numbers until they’re old enough to get admitted into the Government Middle School.
The two young men provide education to these children absolutely free of cost.

Most parents didn’t enroll their children into the Government Middle School despite the panchayat’s effort because they couldn’t take the risk of sending their children so far away, especially since there was a busy highway in between.
It took Meena and Ramlal a lot of convincing, and looking at the students’ enthusiasm, Udaipur (rural) MLA Phool Singh Meena and Sarpanch Ramesh Damor are trying to get a proper school sanctioned for the duo to continue.
