Delhi Police ASI Rapes 23-year-old maid at gunpoint
Delhi Police ASI Javeer Singh allegedly raped friend’s 23-year-old maid at gun point, remanded to judicial custody.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Javeer Singh of the Delhi Police, posted at Punjabi Bagh police station in West Delhi, allegedly raped the maid of his friend at gunpoint on Thursday night. It has been reported that the accused was under the influence of alcohol.
Singh was dismissed and has been remanded to a 14-day judicial custody.
TV reports say that CCTV footage that has emerged allegedly Singh toting a gun, is being examined by the Delhi Police.
An FIR was registered after the 23-year-old victim approached police yesterday, following which the ASI was immediately arrested. A medical examination of the victim confirmed that she had been raped.
Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said that Singh’s dismissal was being examined under Article 311(2)(B) (of Constitution) and added that any police official indulging in transgression of law will not be spared and the police will work to ensure that a chargesheet is filed at the earliest and the accused is convicted.
As far as departmental thing is concerned, we are not going to wait for the departmental enquiry. He will be dismissed under Article 311 (2) B where a person is dismissed straightaway. He will not be spared and we need not be told (this) by anybody. This is our determination… we are determined to take strictest possible action against any police officer who indulges in transgression of law. Particularly, anybody who indulges in violence or criminal act against woman shall not be spared. Strictest possible action will be taken in this case. As you know, report was lodged with police and he was arrested.
