A special court has granted Naroda Patiya massacre accused Maya Kodnani time till 12 September to get BJP national president Amit Shah to be her defence witness in the case, according to an NDTV report.
The former BJP minister requested the court be given more time to contact Shah who is “unreachable due to his busy schedule” and figure his address where she can serve him the summon.
Shah is the last witness in her defence witness list and the others have been cross-examined, said the report.
Kodnani has been accused of leading a large mob and inciting violence in Gujarat’s Naroda Gam on 28 February 2002 which led to the killing of 11 Muslims.
