Child Injured in Crude Bomb Explosion in Kolkata

A three-year-old child was injured when a crude bomb exploded inside a sewerage pipe kept beside a road in Tala Park area of the city this morning.

Another bomb was discovered and the police are probing it.

“A toddler sustained injury in the explosion and has been taken to state-run R G Kar Medical College and Hospital.Doctors are treating him,” a senior police officer said.

Another crude bomb has been recovered. Police are probing the incident.

The incident happened at around 9:25 AM when the crude bomb exploded inside a pipe kept by the side of the road at the crossing of Tarashankar Sarani and Khelat Babu Lane in Tala Police Station area. A probe has been initiated, the police officer said.
