Dharampal Meshram, a BJP Leader from Nagpur, lodged a complaint against unknown persons for circulating an old photograph of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and his family on vacation in Goa some years ago.
Meshram said in a statement that the incident has hurt sentiments of many BJP workers. He added that party workers across the state of Maharashtra would lodge more such complaints.
The photograph of Fadnavis and his family vacationing in Goa, shot years ago, is from their personal social media account. What irked Meshram and his friends was that the same photograph is now being passed off as if the Maharashtra Chief Minister and his family are enjoying a vacation in the USA at present, the BJP sources said.
In his complaint, Meshram stated, that the photograph was uploaded on social media platforms like WhatsApp at a time when the Maharashtra Chief Minister is in the United States of America on an official visit to attract foreign investment.
Circulation of such photographs on the social media is aimed at tarnishing his image, Meshram stated, adding that the photograph of the Maharashtra Chief Minister and his family was not taken in USA.
Some anti-social elements are making deplorable attempts to tarnish the image of the Chief Minister.

It may be recalled that Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis issued a statement from the USA denying any role in the Air-India flight take off delay and vowed to initiate action against a section of the media which carried the news item.
