Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy hinted at effecting the resignation of five BJP MLAs in Mandya on Tuesday.

Replying to the queries of media persons about the stability of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, he reiterated that his government is stable and cannot be trounced so easily, by the opposition party, the BJP. “The media has been cooking up stories on the instability of the government on the basis of various reasons. But they are not true,” he said.

Mediapersons drew his attention to the statements of Municipalities and Urban Local Bodies Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi that himself, his brother Sathish Jarkiholi and their supporters, will take a decision after the return of former chief minister Siddaramaiah, who is on a foreign tour. “I do not know how the move of the Jarkiholi brothers would affect the government. I do not have information on their disappointment in the government. But, the media has been churning out speculations. For a change, let us take a U-turn. Let us effect the resignation of BJP MLAs,” he said.
