Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan met in Chennai on 21 September at the actor’s residence. The politically-active actor and fimmaker has earlier hinted that he may join or launch a political party, but not in haste.
Following the meeting, the two leaders addressed a joint press conference in which they both expressed that they will keep meeting in the future and exchange ideas.

Emerging from the meeting at the Kamal Haasan’s office-cum- residence in Alwarpet, Kejriwal said,
It is important at this point of time when the country is facing strong forces of corruption and communalism like-minded people should talk to each other about these issues and should try to work in tandem with each other.
With Haasan by his side, the AAP chief said he was very happy when he learnt that there were a large number of honest people who feel strongly against communalism and communal forces.
Kejriwal said he had always been a great fan of Haasan both as an actor and as an individual.
“We had a very good meeting. We exchanged our ideas and that was the purpose I came down, to discuss the ideas with him....we had an excellent meeting, and we will continue to discuss and meet each other in the future also,” said Kejriwal.

Addressing a joint press conference with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that he was “happy to meet Kejriwal and exchange ideas with like-minded people.” Kamal said that he discussed various issues with Kejriwal, including corruption issue.
The Delhi chief minister said that he has always been a fan of Kamal Haasan, both as an actor and individual.

Kejriwal lauded Kamal for deciding to stick his neck out, rather than complaining from outside. He added that “like minded people should get together and hold discussions.”
The two leaders also expressed that those against corruption and communalism should unite.
