The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has hiked the ticket prices of Taj Mahal and other heritage buildings by a whopping 200%. This price hike comes after more than a decade.

According to a report in TOI, entry to world heritage sites, which are also known as ‘A’ category monuments will now cost you Rs 30 – as against Rs 10 earlier, and Rs 750 for foreigners – as against Rs 250.

Taj Mahal is heavier on your pockets as compared to others as Agra Development Authority (ADA) collects something called the ‘toll tax’ of Rs 10. So now the ticket will cost you Rs 40.

Foreigners will have to pay Rs 1,250 (Rs 500 as toll tax). The notice by ASI will be put to effect on Tuesday.
