- Home Minister Rajnath Singh announces an ex-gratia amount of Rs 25 lakh to the family of lawyer MM Khan, who was murdered in Jamia Nagar in Delhi on Monday.
- Earlier, six people had been apprehended in connection with the murder of the 57-year-old lawyer who was shot dead by two unidentified men in full public view in south-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area.
- The incident took place around 7.45 pm when Khan was shot from close range while heading back home in his car which was intercepted by a motorbike at a busy street in Jamia Nagar. Khan sustained a bullet injury to his chest and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
- Khan’s relatives told the police that he had been receiving calls from unknown people during odd hours of the day. Police have recovered his mobile phone and the call data will be analysed, the official said.
