Agra, Jan 29 (IANS) A 12-foot-long python and a seven-foot-long crocodile were rescued by experts of the Wildlife SOS from different areas in Agra district, an official said on Monday. The python, rescued on Sunday, was under treatment for a deep wound on its belly. Dr Ilayaraja, Deputy Director of Veterinary Services, Wildlife SOS, said: "The cause of injury is yet to be determined. There are no visible bruises, bite marks, or signs of burnt skin. The python weighs approximately 30 kg. We have sutured the wound." Around the same time, the Wildlife SOS team received a call from Chambal District Forest Officer about a crocodile sighting in a pond in Jajomai village. Accompanied by forest officials, a three-member team rushed to the spot and rescued the animal. Baiju Raj M.V, Director of Conservation Projects, Wildlife SOS, said: "The crocodile was stressed. The rescue team was careful not to agitate the reptile further before rescueing it." Both reptiles are under observation and will be released into the wild once fit. --IANS bk/tsb
