The Indian Air Force (IAF) has offered to move the family of Corporal Mohammad Sartaj, whose father Mohammad Akhlaq was killed by a lynch mob over rumours of eating beef, to an IAF area.

The IAF had promised to provide support to Sartaj and his family.

We are extending whatever help is required. We are in constant touch, not only with him and his family, but also local authorities. Everybody is considerate and they are trying their best to help him and the family. Whatever needs to be done, it is being done.
— Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, IAF Chief

The IAF will help them move if and when the family decides to do so, according to Raha who will be meeting Sartaj soon.

Sartaj’s father died after being attacked in Dadri on September 30, while his brother Danish remains hospitalised with severe injuries.
