Bangladesh SC upheld MP, Salahuddin Qader Chaudhury, death sentence, announced on October 1 2013.

He was sentenced to death for war crimes, including genocide, during the 1971 war of independence with Pakistan.

According to a BBC report in 2013, the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) member’s lawyer had argued that the court was politically motivated.
