The Government of India, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the department of higher education has assigned the National Testing Agency (NTA) the responsibility for conducting the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Mains) from 2019 onwards.
National Testing Agency is an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation. It is transparent and conducts international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to top higher education institutions.
Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating state governments, and other institutions will be including the performance of candidates in Class 12 qualification examination and JEE mains entrance. The JEE Mains examination will be an eligibility exam for JEE Advance aspiring students who are willing to take admission in undergraduate programs offered by the Institute of Indian Technology.
