Sensex, Nifty Close With Marginal Gains, Vodafone-Idea Up 25%

Sensex closed 70.21 points up at 40,356.59, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed 23.20 points above at 11,895.30 points.

The Indian Equity Benchmarks lost on intraday gains, closing slightly above as the last hour of selling wiped out most of the intraday gains, Moneycontrol reported.

The BSE Sensex closed 70.21 points up at 40,356.59 points, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed 23.20 points above at 11,895.30 points.

Bharti Infratel, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Zee Entertainment and Grasim industries were among major gainers on the National Stock Exchange, while the losses were led by IOC, Hero Motorcorp, BPCL, Maruti Suzuki and ITC.
