Outgoing Reserve Bank of India Governor, Raghuram Rajan on Tuesday decided to leave key interest rates untouched as he kept the Repo rate unchanged at 6.50 percent. The RBI is cautious of the upside bias to the inflationary trajectory but maintained their target at 5% for the financial year, according to BloombergQuint.

The Central Bank also said it was keeping a look out at how the monsoon plays out, when asked about the easing up of monetary policy.

Rajan said he hoped that this was the last monetary policy decided by a governor, and hoped that next would be determined by a monetary policy committee.

Rajan said that he would be going back to academia. He will however be available for certain assignments that happen in India, though he kept that very ambiguous.
