Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed a press conference on Monday and said that he does not have to prove his secularism to anyone.

Hailing Prime Minister Modi, he said that there is nobody who can compete with the former in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

We will continue to support Gopal Krishna Gandhi for Vice Presidential election, BJP doesn’t have a problem with that.

Drawing attention to corruption charges against Rashtriya Janta Dal Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish said:

I didn’t have a choice, I tolerated everything and thought this happens in alliance. I continued to work. They are accumulating wealth in the garb of secularism. I had asked them to explain the corruption allegations, had they done that, the situation could have been different.

He further added that he could not remain silent owing to his policy of “zero tolerance” for corruption.

RJD made objectionable statements against the grand alliance; none from JD(U) said anything against RJD’s supreme leader... Lalu did not give any clarification on corruption charges; how could I remain silent as I talked about zero tolerance on corruption...I don’t need any certificate from anybody on secularism.
