Loot was robbed from Hindi. Incidentally, the word means ‘to rob’!
Juggernaut comes from Jagannatha, and goes into every media mention of Modi.
Banglas became bungalows. Built for European settlers in 17th century Bengal, banglas went back with them into the Oxford Dictionary.
Gaadi and Ma have yet to make it.
The combo of the Tamil word kasu (coin) and the Sanskrit word karsa (unit of weight) became cash. Kaash I has some Cash too.
That downmarket champi caught the fancy of some British afsar who made a soapy deal of it.
