At a time when MS Dhoni has been going through a rough patch – his captaincy of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Rising Pune Supergiant was taken away, and his performance in the cricket league too has been underwhelming – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan seems to have made an ambiguous comment about the World-Cup winning captain.

A report on sports website Sportswallah talks about an interview with Khan on his film Raees, wherein he brought up the topic of IPL and Dhoni.

On the question of whether he would be willing to bring Dhoni into the Kolkata Knight Riders roster, Khan – who is the owner of the IPL team – was quoted by the website as saying:

Yaar main toh usko apna pyjama bech ke bhi kharid lun, wo aaye toh auction mein. (Brother, I can even sell my pyjamas to buy Dhoni. He has to come for the auction for that.)

While the report does mention that Khan “didn’t mince his words while expressing the love for the former Indian captain”, one can still not be very sure about what the comment exactly meant.

Is Khan genuinely interested in acquiring him for his team in the next auctions, or was the statement a sarcastic dig at his below-par form.

Nevertheless, Khan might have an opportunity to get Dhoni into the KKR fold next year, when all the players will be available in the auctioning process prior to the start of the new season.
