“The Comic Con Bengaluru is better than the one in Delhi,” says Shubhankan Singh, a 19-year-old, who came all the way from the national capital to Bengaluru to take part in the three-day event.

I am a semi-professional cosplayer and today I have come here as Ragna the Bloodedge.

The second day of the Comic Con Bangalore at the White Orchid Convention Centre in Hebbal drew hundreds of ardent comic art fans.

The highlights of the event on Saturday included special sessions for fans with Natalia Tena, who played the character of Tonks in the “Harry Potter” movie series, actors Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah Bhatia who promoted their upcoming film “Baahubali” and a rib-tickling performance by The Viral Fever (TVF).

However, it was the cosplay that stole the overall show.

Both children and adults came dressed as their favourite superhero, comic or anime characters.

The News Minute caught up with some of them and here’s what they had to say.

Jheel cosplayed as Aria Stark, one of the major female characters in the “Game of Thrones” (GOT) TV series.

An entrepreneur by profession, Jheel is a die-hard GOT fan. “GOT is so much a part of her lives,” she says.

Seeing people cosplaying is so much of an enthusiasm. Comic Con gives a platform to like-minded people like us.

“I had won three tickets last year. I want to win this year too,” he says.

With his face painted white and the signature red on the lips, Aniket Dhuri was cosplaying “one of the best super-villains” of all time - The Joker.

The 23-year-old software engineer was attending Comic Con for the first time. “The experience has been too good,” he says as he breaks away for a moment from a photo session with some attendees.

Siddharth Chakraborty (21) was seen cosplaying Kenpachi Zaraki, a fictional character in the anime series Bleach.

“I am a huge anime fan. I love Zaraki’s aggressive character and Comic Con gives us the opportunity to get into our favourite characters,” says Chakraborty who cosplayed Hei from Darker Than Black last year.

Dressed in pink robes, red hair and a sword accompanying her, 22-year-old Sneha, looked every bit the character she was cosplaying. “I am Yona from Atsukinoyona. She is a character who grew from a weak person to a strong one. Dressing up like her gives me the feeling that I too can be a strong person,” she says.

A passionate anime fan, Sneha feels Comic con is a great platform to meet people and interact with people.

Sneha has been cosplaying for three years now and is also part of the Bangalore Anime Club. “I will never stop cosplaying. I’ll do it even after I am married,” she says.
