Bonjour, India! Six Buzzwords of Hollande’s India Visit in French

Now that French President Francois Hollande is in India, it’s time to brush up our French skills.

Have you always loved the French language? Are you among those who think that French accent is sexy, to say the least?

Well, now that French President Francois Hollande is in India on a three-day visit, we thought we might as well brush up our French to play gracious hosts. After all, nothing impresses the French than pseudo Francophones mimicking their language!

Deal With it

Deal ya no deal is the question. Thankfully, India signed an MoU with France on the purchase of 36 Rafale aircrafts. This was one of the most watched out aspects of Hollande’s visit to India.

‘Desi’gn Diaries

Foreign Secretary of India S Jaishankar, on Monday, said France is among the leading countries to participate in the Make in India programme. The French Finance Minister also announced that French companies will be investing $10 billion in India over the next five years and the bulk of these investments would go towards the Make in India campaign. Arrey waah!

Terrorism Talk

India and France talked tough on terrorism too.

They even mentioned top terror outfits including Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Given our fascination for everything smart, it is little wonder that France will be converting three Indian cities – Chandigarh, Nagpur and Puducherry – into smart ones. Now isn’t that intelligentes?

And Finally, Bear Hugs

Hey, you can’t truly enjoy Indian hospitality until you’ve got a jhaadu ki jhappi from our Prime Minister. PM Narendra Modi greeted Francois Hollande with his now-world-famous hug at Rock Garden in Chandigarh on Saturday.
