A stray dog ruined a runner’s chances of victory at the TCS World 10K run in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Ethiopia’s Mulle Waishun was attacked mid-run and tried his best to step over the dog to prevent a fall. The runner finished 9th in the race after the dog began chasing him near Cubbon Park Metro Station according to Deccan Herald.
After the story picked up on social media, people expressed their concerns over the poor administration of the race.
While others have seen the humour in the unpleasant incident.
On its Facebook page, the TCS Bengaluru World 10K 2016 metaphorically shrugged their shoulders and called the incident ‘unfortunate’ and ‘out of their control’. The issue has been raised with the relevant authorities.
