The sixth edition of filmmaker Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee With Karan is about to take off in October. Here’s our wish list of 5 celeb pairs we want to see on the show. Pretty please?
1. Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra
It’s no secret that Salman Khan is mighty miffed with Priyanka Chopra for having walked out of his ambitious home production Bharat. In Khan’s head, it’s a role any heroine would have given her right arm for... and then his chosen leading lady just abandons it just as the film goes on floors. Ouch!
Salman has been heard making statements like “Priyanka called Arpita a 1000 times saying ‘I want to work with Salman’...”, the actor also speculated that Priyanka no longer wants to work in Bollywood and wants to only do Hollywood films. Earlier, Priyanka’s immediate engagement and the plan to wed Nick Jonas was supposedly the reason why she couldn’t do Salman’s pet project. And then came the news of her having signed Cowboy Ninja Viking with none other than Chris Pratt. Double ouch!
So, it would make for a great episode to see Salman Khan thrash it out with PC between sips of coffee of something stronger.
2. Swara Bhaskar and Paresh Rawal
As the run up to the general elections of 2019 heats up, it would be oh-so-entertaining to watch someone like Swara Bhaskar share the hot seat with someone like Paresh Rawal. Both the actors belong to totally opposite sides of the ideological spectrum and Twitter would turn into a television chat show format with Swara and Paresh on Koffee With Karan.
Lynchings, petrol prices, hate speech, fake news, there is no dearth of issues on which these two actors can literally slug it out on Koffee With Karan. Talking about fake news, the actor and BJP MP, Paresh Rawal, is a habitual offender when it comes to sharing fake reports and quotes via his Twitter handle. If nothing else, Swara could just give him a crash course on the dangers of fake news and walk away with that hamper.
3. Rishi Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap
The angry and outspoken Rishi Kapoor has time and again expressed his disappointment about his son Ranbir Kapoor having done Bombay Velvet and Jagga Jasoos. Rishi Kapoor has never minced words when it came to blaming the failure of both these Ranbir Kapoor films on their directors - Anurag Kashyap and Anurag Basu. It’ll be a delight to see an agitated Rishi Kapoor tell Anurag Kashyap how big budgets in his hands are akin to “bandar ke haath mein khilona,” yup, Kapoor actually said that in an interview.
Imagine both these angry err... young men on Koffee With Karan speaking their minds out and not giving a flying f*** for diplomacy. Anurag later tweeting out Rishi Kapoor’s mobile number will be an added bonus!
4. Akshay Kumar and Mallika Dua
There are some very important questions that Akshay Kumar needs to answer regarding a distasteful comment he passed on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge on which he featured with Mallika Dua. Akshay apparently hates conflicts and avoids confrontations, so how would he react to being brought on Koffee With Karan with Mallika Dua, with whom the actor had that controversial episode on the show last year? ‘Coffee’ awkward!
5. Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut

Last but definitely not the least, imagine Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut on the Koffee With Karan couch. This would be the casting coup of the decade and only Karan Johar can make it happen. Apart from everything else - the rapid fire round in this one is going to be so fiery that it could burn down the entire set. Or alternately KJo could ask them to play truth or dare... we wonder if both the stars will be bindaas enough to ‘Krrish and Tell’ on national television. This will make for one helluva episode!
