My friend’s grip on her half empty cola can tightens and she whispers ‘unbelievable.’
“I know right? All that running and her makeup is still perfect,” I blurt out.
But can you really blame me?
As I follow Parthavi (played by Jahnvi Kapoor) and Madhur (played by Ishaan Khatter) through the many trials and tribulations of their love in Dhadak, it’s impossible not notice how each frame with Jhanvi is Instagram perfect!’
Bollywood really has given us some crazy #LookNatural goals, which, when tried at home, never give the same result.
Here are five such Bollywood Vs Real Life moments I came across in Dhadak.
1. The Dive For Love
Dhadak’s epic ‘Dive For Love’ scene should have come with the caveat ‘please don’t try this at your nearest talab’. Afterall, while Jhanvi and Ishaan look smexy with their eyes locked and water dripping from their wet hair, ours will look something like this, courtesy smudged kajal.
2. Jhanvi’s Zingat VS My Visarjan Dance
It’s okay to break out into a into a dance when you hear ‘Zingat’ cue in on the radio. Thou shalt not be judged. But know that there is a difference. While Jhanvi’s hair stays parted perfectly even as she ‘dabs’ to the hook,
I can bet you even with the latest edition of Kerastase hair styling gel, we will resemble that ‘chudail’ from The Grudge.
3. Catching a Running Train
Bollywood has given us reasons to romanticise catching a train in mid run - from DDLJ to Dhadak.
If only it were so in real life. Those who commute daily using Indian Railways can tell you it needs serious practicing. And your battle doesn’t end once you get in - sitting between the two open doors near the train toilet is anything but romantic.
If not the wind, the smell will blow you away.
4. Playing With Colors: Holi Hai!
Every holi, I go from looking bad to worse -- so much so that my parents can’t recognise me -- and Bollywood keeps telling me there is a way to look like the perfect canvas of an artist when someone throws colors at you.
5.Playing A Sport
Dhadak’s Jhanvi is a spunky girl, who’s into bikes and sports. And she looks fine as a fable while at it.
While I look like I will drown away in my own pool of sweat after 10 minutes of badminton.
R.I.P mascara.
So here I am, wondering how exactly did she achieve those picture perfect frames. There’s gotta be a product that can get me there. It can't all possibly be camera tricks. Can it?
