Valentine’s Day is round the corner and we are sure you’re gung-ho about it. You’ve booked her favourite restaurant, confirmed multiple times with the florist to make sure her favourite flowers don’t go out of stock and chosen to dress up in a colour she thinks looks good on you. Just one day and so much effort. But why not? It’s a special day and at the end of it, all you want is to leave her impressed.

Just so that you don’t ruin your V-Day date, we have put together a 5-point checklist to make sure your day goes perfect.

Look dapper: We know you are all excited about this day and you want to look your best, but for God’s sake don’t overdo it. Keep your choice of clothes subtle and simple. Look dapper and you’ve nailed it.

Surprise her: No no, we are not talking about reserving a table at a high-end place that has a live-band or some such fancy stuff. A sweet little surprise will do the trick. It needn’t even be out of the box. And contrary to what people say, it really doesn’t take much to bring a sparkle in someone’s eyes.

Smell good: It would be a good idea to not turn up on your V-Day date straight from your office. It’s a date and not a drinking session with your friends. Unpleasant odours of all kinds can be a total turn off. Leave your workplace a little early, head home, take a shower, make sure your deo game is on point and only then step out.

Keep her interested: You’ve obviously chatted or spoken with her or maybe even stalked her a little on social media before planning this big date. So you have a fair idea of what she likes, what she doesn’t, whether she’s a films person or a books person. This will help you keep her interested in the date. If you find a common ground, nothing like it. You are sure to hit it off and things will only look up from there.

If you’ve been seeing each other for some time now, then well, we’re sure you both know what each other like.

And now coming to the most important point of all. If you miss out on this, none of the above, yes, none of the above are going to work.

Choose a style that suits your face: The choice of sporting a clean-shaven look, a stubble or a beard is totally yours, but make sure you choose a look that complements your face.

A beard doesn’t suit everyone. If you think it looks good on you and you plan to sport one, ensure it is well-groomed. A disheveled look or an unkempt beard is an instant turn-off. Besides, this is a Valentine’s Day date and you should do NO wrong.

Remember, your style not only makes you look good, but also reveals character traits such as perfection and precision. It is more than just a cosmetic addition so you must take it seriously.

And with Gillette’s Mach 3, it really doesn’t take a lot. Its precision is amazing and with every stroke you inch towards a more confident and well-groomed appearance. Just the look you need for Valentine’s Day (and every other day).

So what are you waiting for? Dab some water, use some foam, grab that razor and start preparing for your big V-Day date.
