People of Indian origin in Israel will be granted Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cards even if they have served with the Israeli army, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on 5 July.

Addressing the Indian diaspora in Israel at an event in Tel Aviv, Modi said:

I want to confess that we are meeting after a long time. It has taken us 70 years to meet
