As a Literature student I have grown up reading. Arundhati Roy is a star in the literary field. As a student, you want to be her. She has her own opinions. She has won the Booker Prize! Insulting an author like that is a shame.

When asked about the army using a human shield in Kashmir, she said she subscribes to Lt General HS Panag’s thought process.

Lt Gen Panag had written exclusively for The Quint and had condemned the Army for using an alleged stone-pelter as a human shield. He believed that “criticism is needed in order to reform the army”.

Gurmehar Kaur added:

I have the same views. Maybe they’re (the Army) coming from a viewpoint and that is their thought. Maybe it is right for them.
