A 12-year-old girl was kidnapped, gang-raped and murdered by two cab drivers in Kolkata.
The girl belonged to a poor family and was living on the pavement with her family. The cab drivers were drunk at the time of crime and allegedly picked up the girl from the streets in central Kolkata around 5 am on Wednesday morning.
The two men sexually assaulted the child in the car and then murdered her. They threw the body off a bridge to cover their crime but the cops discovered the corpse.
Both of them were associated with Ola cabs.
Condemning the alleged misbehaviour by one of their drivers in Kolkata, Ola on Wednesday put out a statement saying that they have “suspended the account associated with this cab with immediate effect”.
The statement also said:
As per our records, this incident has not occurred while on the Ola platform. We will work with the authorities to share any information that will help support their investigation.
Both the drivers have been arrested and have confessed to their crimes.
A team from Hare Street Police station arrested both and they have confessed their crime.Kolkata Police
