Amid the coronavirus outbreak in the world, netizens have found numerous shows and movies which predicted the pandemic early on. After Contagion, a Korean TV show named My Secret, Terrius on Netflix reportedly predicted the outbreak in 2018. The show isn’t available in India, however.

On the 53rd minute of the show’s 10th episode, a doctor can be seen explaining a case, saying that somebody has tweaked the coronavirus to “increase the mortality rate to 90 per cent”. The doctor is seen explaining that coronavirus, MERS, SARS and common flu “all fall in the same family with the same gene information” and that coronavirus causes respiratory disease.

The show also hinted on the probability of the virus being used as a muted weapon. The doctor adds that coronavirus’ usual incubation period of 2 to 14 days has also been tampered with, due to which now the virus directly attacks a person’s lungs within “just five minutes of being exposed”.

Moreover, children in the show are being taught to wash hands properly, as there is no cure or vaccine available for the virus. Viewers of the Korean drama have been posting clips of the show on social media, in which the characters are discussing coronavirus.

Earlier, the 2011 film Contagion was also being talked about as it also predicted conditions similar to coronavirus.
