This trailer will blow your mind, so ‘shut up, put the record on, drop the needle and crank up the volume’. Yes! Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Boardwalk Empire’s Terence Winter are co-producing an HBO original TV series titled Vinyl. A rock ‘n’ roll drama, this 10-episode series, set in the New York of the 70s, explores the sex- and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco and hip-hop. The series stars Bobby Cannavale as the record label president Richie Finestra. The cast also includes Olivia Wilde, who plays Richie’s wife and former actress Devon Finestra.

The teaser trailer doesn’t give away too much about the show’s narrative or plot, but one thing’s for sure, it’s edgy as hell! Director Anurag Kashyap, who is a huge fan of Scorsese’s work, shared the teaser on Facebook saying that the series is ‘to die for!’ We’ll take his word for it!

Vinyl premieres on HBO in 2016.
