1. Eros, Mandhana Shares Plunge after Salman’s Conviction
Shares of Eros International Media and Mandhana Industries, two companies associated with Salman Khan, plunged to up to 6% on Wednesday after the Bollywood actor was convicted in the 2002 hit-and-run case and sentenced to five-year imprisonment by a Mumbai court. Eros International has the worldwide distribution rights for two upcoming Salman Khan films – Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Hero. Mandhana Industries, on the other hand, is a textile company that has a licensee agreement with Salman Khan’s charity Being Human to make and retail Being Human clothing. 2. Sonakshi Sinha Lashes Out at Singer Abhijeet
Singer Abhijeet Bhatacharaya took to Twitter to defend Salman Khan and lay the blame on pavement dwellers for the infamous 2002 hit-and-run incident and it seems that this has not gone down well with Sonakshi Sinha. The singer had tagged Sonakshi Sinha on his offensive tweet. The actress who made her debut opposite Salman, lashed out at Abhijeet for his insensitive tweets and requested him not to tag her.
3. Mani Ratnam Did Not Suffer from a Heart Attack
Film buffs across India woke up to the worrying news of director Mani Ratnam being admitted in hospital after suffering a minor heart attack. Rumours claimed that the ace filmmaker was holidaying in Srinagar with his family, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. However, the filmmaker’s wife and actress Suhasini Maniratnam tweeted to clarify that all is well and that he had been admitted to hospital for a check-up. She also tweeted a selfie with Mani Ratnam and a picture of Ratnam working on his next script from hospital.
