The police have begun proceedings to prosecute actors Kapil Sharma and Irrfan Khan along with four others, as part of the investigation into the BMC's claims of illegal alterations in their apartments at DLH Enclave in Oshiwara, Mumbai.

According to a report by Times of India, a charge sheet would be submitted to the court soon on the basis of the "large-scale violations" that were found during inspection of the apartments.. A first information report was filed by the Oshiwara police last year against the accused, which includes a developer, under Section 53(7) of the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning (MRTP) Act.

Senior inspector Subhash Khanvilkar from Oshiwara Police Station confirmed a charge sheet will soon be filed.

It has been found that the accused carried out alterations after the apartments were purchased, and the developer helped them in such renovations.

The police sources said an inspection of Sharma's apartment revealed the walls were pulled down to make the rooms bigger. Both Irrfan and Kapil - who have been looking to sell off the flats and blaming the DLH developer for alterations - were not available for comment.

Kapil Sharma has been in BMC’s bad books ever since he complained to the Prime Minister last year on Twitter about being harassed by them for a hefty bribe.
