Bollywood’s item girl Mumaith Khan, who transformed into a popular actor in Telugu, will now appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as part of the ongoing investigation into a high-profile drug racket in Hyderabdad.
Mumaith is part of the first season of the Bigg Boss Telugu reality show, which is currently on and has been staying in the Bigg Boss house in Lonavala.
According to a report in Indian Express, Mumaith will leave the Bigg Boss house for Hyderabad to be questioned in the drug case on 27 July. The investigating officials could not reach Mumaith in person earlier as she was not available at her residential address. The officers got in touch with the producers of the show after getting to know that the actress could be kept inside the Bigg Boss house for nearly 70 days.
It still remains unclear if Mumaith can re-enter the show once she leaves the Bigg Boss house for questioning.
The SIT officials have grilled some big names from the Telugu film industry in the drug case. So far 12 celebrities including director Puri Jagannadh, actors Ravi Teja and Charmee Kaur’s have come up in the alleged racket based on the information provided by the suspects arrested in Hyderabad in a recent drug bust.
After filmmaker Puri Jagannadh was questioned on Wednesday, cinematographer Shyam K Naidu was grilled for nearly 6 hours on Thursday. Actor Ravi Teja is expected to be questioned in the case on 24 July.
