It’s that time of the year again when a majority of Bollywood will be packed into chartered flights and flown abroad for a fancy weekend with dollops of glitz and glamour, visually enthralling performances and yes, an awards ceremony too! As IIFA 2015 unrolls its green carpet in Kuala Lumpur this year, here’s a look at what to expect when it comes to arguably the most watched, most fashionable weekend in the Bollywood.
Be ready to be dazzled by international names once again. Monique Lhuillier, Zuhair Murad, Giorgio Armani, Marchesa - these labels ruled the green carpet last year and are very likely to be flaunted by Bollywood A listers once again.
In fact, Malaika Arora Khan’s personal stylist Maneka Harisinghani maintains a mystery around her wardrobe but tells The Quint that the diva will only be wearing creations by Lebanese designers! Sounds like Zuhair Murad and Ellie Saab will be returning to the IIFA stage. In terms of colours, it will be pastels for the sensual Mrs Khan!
Aditi Rao Hydari generated mixed reviews with her Gauri & Nainika gown last year, this year she will be spotted in a magnificent art nouveau inspired volume gown by Shantanu and Nikhil. Of course, the way she styles herself will finally decide if the look is a hit or a miss!
Bipasha Basu will be wearing Sonaakshi Raaj at IIFA this year too. But unlike the white saree gown from last year, this year the designer tells us, Bips has a more modern look in mind with a nude and black fully embroidered gown.
Bollywood’s favourite Rocky S is styling one too many divas at IIFA this year. His creations will take to the ramp at a special fashion show but there will a lot of presence of his designs off the ramp too.
The petite Dia Mirza will be flaunting this sexy black outfit from Rocky S that combines various textures for an ultra-glam look!
All eyes are of course on the industry queens who have kept their looks under wraps, keen on surprising their fans. But if what they pick is on the lines of what we just told you, this is going to be a green carpet to remember!
