It’s the festival of lights. And just like you and me, Bollywood stars are also gearing up to celebrate Diwali. They share their Diwali plans with us.

Diwali is always an open house at our home ‘Jalsa’. Everyone is welcome.

Every year I make sure that I am with my family, but this time I am gonna stay back as my next Takkadum starts rolling on 7th and I am deep into preparation. So will have to skip the family get-together this Diwali.
Sushant Singh Rajput, Actor
I would like to celebrate this Diwali by lighting up my house in the memory and respect of the martyred soldiers of our country.

For me, Diwali is all about light and colour - diyas, fairy lights, rangoli, dressing festive! But most important is the Diwali puja and spending time with family and friends. Oh and let’s not forget those yummy sweets - all diets out of the window for the time being! A special thought for our animals and our environment this time of the year - the loud sounds and smoke from the crackers we light affects them greatly. Diwali is the Festival of Lights, not noise. So choose light. Be considerate. Be safe.

Diwali has to be at home, no matter what. The family has to be together for that occasion. Or at least, we try to be. But all of us have our own crazy schedules. Sometimes it becomes impossible to fulfil family obligations. But we try our best.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Actor
For me celebrations and festivals are meaningless. I don’t wish anyone on their birthday or for Diwali.

Just a small pooja at home. Then I’ll be sitting on a ledge watching the world explode to the sound of firecrackers.

The rituals for Diwali are invariable for me. I do a Laxmi-Ganesh puja followed by a quiet dinner with all my family and close friends. Simple and traditional.

I am in Chennai to be with my parents and my kids. For me, any time with family is Diwali.

I will mostly be working. For us it’s Durga Puja and I got to spend time in Kolkata with family after a decade almost. Today is Kali Puja for us, chhoti Diwali. I will be in Kolkata for half a day and then go straight to Pune to shoot. I’m back in Mumbai for half a day on Diwali. Will spend it with my two-year-old grandniece and hopefully eat a lot of savouries. My most favourite part of any festival is the food. I don’t burn crackers and mostly stay indoors.
