Kristen Wigg, of Saturday Night Live fame, has been confirmed as the villain in the sequel to the hit Wonder Woman. The Bridesmaid actor will be essaying the role of the formidable foe,Cheetah, in the Wonder Woman sequel starring Gal Gadot. This comes as an affirmation that the character of Cheetah will be assimilated on the silver screen by director Patty Jenkins.
The question now is what version of Cheetah will be incorporated into DC’s cinematic universe as the character has been seen in different forms.
The graphic novels see Cheetah and Wonder Woman as enemies and competitors. The Amazonian princess Diana, however, sees Cheetah as a lost soul in need of saving.
Directed by filmmaker Patty Jenkins, the untitled Wonder Woman sequel is scheduled for release on 1 November 2019.
