The much-awaited trailer of Ocean’s 8 was released on Tuesday, introducing us to a star-studded all-female gang planning the heist of the century. The dream cast is comprised of Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, and Awkwafina. (Nope, we are not kidding.)
As the trailer opens, you meet Debbie Ocean, played by Sandra Bullock. Debbie is the imprisoned sister of Danny Ocean, played by George Clooney as a part of Ocean’s franchise. In her parole hearing, she says all she wants is a “simple life”.
Cut to her meeting her potential teammates who will help her with a $150 million jewel heist at the Annual Met Gala in New York city.
“Why do you need to do this?” Cate Blanchett’s character Lou is seen asking Debbie.
“Because it’s what I’m good at,” she responds coolly.
According to Variety, Damian Lewis will play Debbie’s ex-boyfriend, who is the target of the gang’s robbery.
Richard Armitage and James Corden also appear make a cameo appearance in the trailer.
Dakota Fanning, Matt Damon, Anna Wintour, Kim Kardashian West, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Olivia Munn, Katie Holmes, Zayn Malik, Zac Posen, Adriana Lima and Serena Williams are all those who will appear in the film, all with their own cameos.
Interest in the film spiked after Sarah Paulson shared the kickass movie poster for the first time on 14 December.
Gary Ross of The Hunger Games fame is directing Ocean’s 8, which he co-wrote with Olivia Milch. Steven Soderbergh, director of the Ocean’s trilogy is playing the producer this time around.
The film is scheduled to release in the summer of 2018.
