Do I really need to put out a disclaimer that this post most certainly contains spoilers from Avengers: Infinity War? I can safely assume that you’ve watched the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Or you are one of those ‘Tony Stark’ types, who really doesn’t give a damn (about the spoilers).

Anyhoo!

Brief synopsis: Big bad Thanos completed his jewellery collection aka his Infinity Gauntlet, and with a snap, he turned half of the universe to dust. Yes, literal dust. Poof.

Thanos beams while you curse the Russo brothers for eliminating your superheroes one by one. But you hold on for a few minutes for that ONE post-credits scenes to give you hope.

And there it is... SHE is!

The red, blue, gold colour symbol – Captain Marvel. She is the superhero who Nick Fury pages an SOS to, before he too becomes a victim of Thanos’s wrath and fades away.

Squeal, gasp and gape all you want because Captain Marvel is the newest entry in the Avengers franchise and is probably the only one who could take care of Thanos in Avengers 4. Why else would Nick Fury page her?

But you don’t have to wait till May next year for Avengers 4 to marvel at the powers of Captain Marvel. Come March 2019, Captain Marvel will make her solo debut, following in DC’s Wonder Woman footsteps.

Who Is Captain Marvel?

Carol Danvers was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gene Colan in 1968. Danvers was a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force. While she was an aam adami Danvers became close to her colleague, Dr Walter Lawson aka Mar-Vell, a Kree superhero. Mar-Vell disguised himself as a mortal human and became the original Captain Marvel. During an explosion, however, Danvers’ DNA was fused with Mar-Vell’s, giving her superpowers. Earlier, Danvers was known as Ms Marvel but soon after Mar-Vell’s death, she adopted the title of Captain Marvel.

What Makes Her A Formidable Opponent to Thanos?

1. Superhuman strength.

2. Her ability to fly and her durability in flight.

3. She can absorb energy and direct it back at her enemies.

4. She’s just super fast!

5. She has the power to anticipate her opponent’s moves.

Enough of Avengers: Infinity War and the brutality of big bad Thanos. It’s time to fast-forward to March 2019 and get ready to welcome Captain Marvel and bring back some of our Avengers!
