Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.

We don’t really need a reason to get nostalgic about the boy wizard who stormed into our lives on a broomstick in 1997. But the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in 2016, brought back a fresh wave of nostalgia.

When the JK Rowling books were translated into films – the makers made an apt choice when they picked 11-year-old Daniel Radcliffe to play the Chosen One. Over the decades, Harry Potter and his gang have entertained us and have literally grown up before our eyes via the films.

Slide through the images below to see how Harry Potter and his gang have aged over the years.

Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe)

Daniel Radcliffe is now an accomplished actor in his own right, and has been a part of theatre, Broadway and indie films. He’s reported to have earned £1 million for the first film and around £15 million for the sixth. He’s truly the chosen one!

Hermione Granger (Emma Watson)

Emma Watson has emerged as a model and activist besides being an actress having done non-Potter films like Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Bling Ring. After being appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, Emma has been working on gender equality and girls’ education – all this minus any spells!

Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint)

Rupert Grint has been doing films, TV shows and theatre to keep himself busy post the Potter movies. The actor dropped out of school at 16, as he “didn’t like school much”. Bet he wouldn’t say that if he was actually studying at Hogwarts.

Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright)

Bonnie Wright isn’t just an actress, the lady has directed a short which was showcased at the Cannes Film Festival and is a model too.

Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton)

The evil Malfoy won two consecutive MTV Movie Awards for Best Villain and is now a series regular in The Flash.

Padma Patil (Afshan Azad)

Though Afshan hasn’t been a part of any films or TV shows apart from her appearance in the Potter series, the girl is quite a selfie queen going by her Instagram account.
