In July, rumours of Rakhi Sawant’s secret wedding in a hotel room had gained legitimacy after the celebrity had posted photos of herself dressed in a beautiful bridal gown. However, when contacted, Rakhi Sawant rubbished the rumours, claiming that the pictures were from a certain bridal photoshoot. Now, Rakhi Sawant has come forward and admitted that she did in fact get married.
She told entertainment website SpotBoyE, “Main dar gayi thi, haan maine shaadi kar li hai. I am confirming the news with you today (I was scared but yes, I am married).”
Spilling more details about the secret hotel wedding, Rakhi said that her husband is a man by the name of Ritesh and he is a NRI living in the UK. “It’s a fab story. He was my fan. He whatsapped me. Messaging and then talking to him, we became friends with the passage of time. This happened about a year-and-half back,” she told the website. After which, Ritesh asked her if she’d like to marry one of his friends. Rakhi declined the offer, only to later realise that she was falling in love with Ritesh.
Ritesh has reportedly left India and Rakhi will soon join him once she has her Visa. Speaking about her career plans moving forward, Rakhi said that she will be shuffling between India and the UK for work. She even has plans of producing TV shows.
The low-key wedding celebrations were held at JW Marriott a day after Rakhi and Ritesh’s court marriage. “We had a Hindu and a Christian wedding both in the hotel itself,” said Rakhi.
