From the first time that news of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas getting married came out, PC’s cousin Parineeti Chopra has been vocal about her excitement for the traditional joota-chhupai i.e. the bride’s sisters hiding the groom's shoes until he pays up to get them back. The Namaste England actor had claimed that she would not settle for an amount less than 5 million dollars.
However, after the extremely-guarded wedding took place last weekend, there were rumours that Nick ended up paying Rs 5 lakh only, which is way less than what Parineeti expected.
Parineeti debunked the rumours on Twitter and admitted was Nick was pretty giving.
She tweeted, "To all those speculating the joota hiding money - you know nothing!! All I can say is - you're wrong!!!!! Haha. Nick was MORE THAN CRAZY HUGELY MADLY GENEROUS! No words. Still reeling. Phew. He shocked us. Whatta playa!!! @nickjonas"
Priyanka and Nick tied the knot at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Johdpur on December 1 and 2. They had a glitzy reception in Delhi on 4 December which was attended by none other than PM Narendra Modi. There is already speculation on their honeymoon plans.
