Deepika Padukone, who’s all set to tie the knot on 14 November with Ranveer Singh says that her life would not change much after marriage.
I’m excited in the same way as I’m excited about signing my next film. Marriage is something that I’ve always looked forward to in my life, as would any other girl.
Deepika also spoke about her idea of an ideal marriage, which is inspired by her parents, Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone. “I’ve seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and I think for me, that’s the way I would like my married life to be as well,” she said.
Deepika, who’s been vocal about her mental health issues amid the stigma around it, also spoke depression once again.
There is this perception that if you have everything - fame, money, family - why should one be depressed. It is important to understand what depression is and why it happens. It is a clinical condition that is beyond your control.
"That's why I came out with my experience: there is a lot of stigma attached to mental illness, to seeking help and a lot of misinformation about what it is and why it happens. It was important for me to be a part of creating that awareness," she added.
Speaking about her own journey, Deepika said, "The triggers could be different for different people. But it's something that came on very unexpectedly. It was important to share my story, my experience, my journey with the intention of helping other people who were probably going through the same thing but were not being able to come out with their stories."
