After delivering two hits in the past, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya & Badrinath ki Dulhaniya, actor Varun Dhawan, director, Shashank Khaitan and producer, Karan Johar are coming together with a title that refreshingly does not carry the word ‘Dulhaniya’. The name of the film and the caption shared by Varun Dhawan suggests that it would be the tale of a warrior.

With all the promises of a visual extravaganza, Rannbhoomi dovetailing around relationships, heroism and revenge is poised to be a Diwali blockbuster, the official Twitter handle of Dharma Productions announced the news.

“Booking you guys for DIWALI 2020 with #RANNBHOOMI – a big war film starring homeboy @Varun_dvn. This time, the men from ‘Dulhania series’ take a giant leap in their 3rd offering into a solid spectacle with a beating heart! More soon! @karanjohar @apoorvamehta18 @ShashankKhaitan”
Dharma Productions
“‘Rannbhoomi’ is Shashank’s colossal and ambitious imagination to attempt a hat-trick with Varun. Shashank and Varun make an epic blend of creative and commercial extravaganza, which is Dharma Productions’ vision for the next few projects.”
Karan Johar

Karan Johar’s sched seems to packed, what with his outing as an actor in Welcome To New York and the remake of Sairat, Dhadak starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishan Khatter, as a producer. All are eyes are on two other upcoming projects starring Varun Dhawan - Sui Dhaga and October.

(The Quint, in association with BitGiving, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for an 8-month-old rape survivor in Delhi. The survivor, who we are calling 'Chhutki', was raped on 28 January 2018, allegedly by her 28-year-old cousin, while her parents were away from home. She has just been discharged from AIIMS hospital after undergoing three surgeries, but still needs more medical treatment to heal completely. Her parents, who belong to a lower income group, have stopped going to work to take care of their baby. Please donate to help with Chhutki's immediate medical expenses and to secure her education in the future. Every little bit counts. Click here to donate.)
