An emotional Shah Rukh Khan spoke to Rani Mukerji about the biggest hichki or roadblock in his life, which he has overcome to become the great success that he is. When Rani, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Hichki, quizzed the King Khan about it, the actor immediately responded by saying that the death of his parents was the biggest hichki that he faced.

“I was 15 when my father died, I was 24 when my mother passed away and suddenly there was a void in my life. I lost my parents suddenly, they both were healthy, but just as we got to know that they had cancer, they were both gone in 2 and a half months. I just felt one night, while at their mazaar that I should fill this void with something.”

Shah Rukh goes on to explain why acting for him is a way to express his bottled up emotions. “I kept that pain in me, but because you need to pain out, you need to vent at times, I was fortunate to get a chance to work in films. For me acting is not a profession, for me acting is a little vent through which I share my feelings - be it sorrow or happiness, things which I associate with my parents, on the big screen,” says the star.
