Parineeti Chopra to Star Opposite Akshay Kumar in ‘Kesari’
Karan Johar has finally revealed the name of the lead actor to star in his co-production with Akshay Kumar, Kesari. It’s going to be Parineeti Chopra. Karan Johar officially announced the news on Twitter.
Kesari is based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarahi, a fierce clash of 21 Sikhs of the 36th regiment of the British army (now the 4th battalion of the Sikh regiment of the Indian Army) with over 10,000 Afghan tribesmen. The Sikhs held their ground.
The project was earlier announced in October 2017 with Salman Khan as a producer. But the actor reportedly backed out when heard about a similar project being made by Ajay Devgn.
Akshay Khiladi Kumar has already started shooting for Kesari. This is the first time Parineeti and Akshay will share the screen together. Kesari is being directed by Anurag Singh and is said to release in 2019.
Parineeti Chopra was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again which broke several box-office records in 2017.
