Kesari actor Parineeti Chopra has been roped in for the official Hindi remake of the popular American psychological thriller The Girl on the Train. Parineeti will play the role of Emma Blunt in the film - an alcoholic divorcee who finds herself involved in the investigation of a missing person. The film will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced by Reliance Entertainment.
The Girl on the Train itself is an adaptation of a 2015 bestselling novel of the same name written by Paul Hawkins. The untitled Hindi remake will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, who has previously worked on films like Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Te3n and Michael. The film will be produced by Reliance Entertainment.
Paul Hawkins novel follows the story of a divorced woman, Rachel, who can’t let go of her previous relationship. During a certain train ride, she comes across a woman who later goes missing. Rachel then gets involved in the situation and tries to persuade the police to investigate the missing woman’s case. The American adaptation of the book was directed by Tate Taylor and produced by DreamWorks Pictures. Emma Blunt was highly praised for her performance in The Girl on the Train.

The film will reportedly go on floors by July 2019 and shooting is expected to finish by September 2019. The film will be shot entirely in the UK.
