Veteran singer Usha Uthup is all praises for her “Darrrling” Priyanka Chopra. “It’s not easy to look the way she does,” she says. Usha and Priyanka have worked together in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Saat Khoon Maaf ’. What thrills Uthup the most about the Priyanka-Nick wedding is that it’s match between two singers. Giving the bride her blessings, Uthup hums “Side by Side” for the couple.
The Quint caught up with Usha in Bhutan and she couldn’t help lavishing praise and love for Priyanka.
Priyanka Gets Her Darrrling
After their Christian wedding on 01 December, the couple have married in a Hindu ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur tonight. As per the reports, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have invited 200 guests to their wedding. The wedding was preceded by a musical sangeet during which Nick danced to many of Priyanka’s Bollywood songs.
Uthup is not the only one greeting the couple, Amul has also done its bit. Using the Nick’s surname for a befitting pun, Amul shows the couple exchanging garlands and captions it with “Joinus for the Shaadi!”
Priyanka’s cousin, actor Parineeti Chopra, also wishes the couple with this special message for Nick:
"The job of us bridesmaids was to make sure the bride was happy and comfortable at all times. But we did not have to worry about it because Nick promised to do it all his life. Welcome to the family Nick jiju! I am so so happy that the Jonas and Chopra family is now united."
The couple have been posting there wedding pictures on instagram that shows how the not just the bride and the groom but their inter-faith, inter-racial families are blending beautifully in this spectacle of a big fat Indian wedding. "An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the mehendi. Once again we made it our own, and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed," said Priyanka while sharing her mehendi pictures.
