Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s upcoming action drama Sooryavanshi. The duo are in the midst of filming their recreation of ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’, the popular romantic number from Akshay’s 1994 film Mohra, which also starred Raveena Tandon. Katrina took to Instagram to share a behind the scenes picture from the sets. The two can be seen grinning at the camera while wearing towels on their heads.
After reports that ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ would be recreated for Sooryavanshi began doing the rounds, Akshay confirmed the news in a tweet and said that he “would’ve definitely been disappointed if any other actor would’ve recreated ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’” calling it a song that was synonymous with him and his career.
The actor, however, was called out on Twitter for neglecting to give his co-star Raveena Tandon, who appeared in the song sequence with him in a gorgeous yellow chiffon sari, due credit.
Rohit Shetty will reportedly us the original set while filming the song to retain its authenticity. Katrina will don an identical yellow sari.
Co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Sooryavanshi reunites Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif after almost a decade. They were least seen together in De Dana Dan. It is the fourth film in Rohit’s cop universe and a companion to Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba. The release of the film has been postponed from Eid 2020 to 27 March 2020 to avoid clashing with Salman Khan’s Inshallah.
