From Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya to Salam-E-Ishq Meri Jaan, veteran actor Rekha left everyone smitten with her grand finale performance at the 19th edition of IIFA here on Sunday night.

So, how did Bollywood respond to this this performance?

Younger stars like Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor joined her on stage towards the end of her act. They all showed nothing but love, respect and awe for the senior actor.

2. ‘Gold’ Trailer: A Sports Drama Infused With Patriotic Fervour

The trailer of Akshay Kumar-starrer Gold has released, and it brings back Akshay in his Mr Bharat avatar. Gold is loosely based on the life of Balbir Singh, who was a part of the team that won the first Olympic medal for India as an independent nation in 1948. Powerfully combining sports and patriotic fervour, Gold has all the essential ingredients to be a blockbuster. It’s genre has proven to be hugely successful in the past.

Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment, the film is written and directed by Reema Kagti. It marks the Bollywood debut of Naagin fame Mouni Roy, and also features Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Vineet Kumar Singh in pivotal roles.

Gold is scheduled to release on 15 August, and will clash with John Abraham-Manoj Bajpayee-starrer Satyamev Jayate.

4. ‘Pataakha’ Poster: Vishal Bhardwaj’s Fiery Sibling Dramedy

Based on Charan Singh Pathik’s short story Do Behnein, Vishal Bhardwaj’s comedy drama, Patakha features Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover. Earlier titled Chhuri, Bhardwaj believed that people would confuse it with Chhodiyaan or Chhoriyaan. The poster is out and the film looks ‘explosive’ indeed.

“Pataakha goes with the spirit of the film which is like a firecracker. And I liked the sound too,” Vishal Bhardwaj told Mumbai Mirror.

5. Thai Film 'Bad Genius' to Get Indian remake

Thai movie Bad Genius is set to get a Hindi spin.

Thai movie Bad Genius is set to get a Hindi spin as Reliance Entertainment and Friday Filmworks Plan C have teamed up with Azure Entertainment for the project. It will be executed under the creative supervision of writer, producer and director Neeraj Pandey.

Released in 2017, Bad Genius is a thriller inspired by real-life news of students cheating on the exam for entry into foreign universities. It transplants the heist film structure to a school-exams setting and features themes of class inequality as well as teen social issues.
