Akshay Donates Rs 1Crore for Chennai Flood Relief

Akshay Kumar has followed other Bollywood leading men and donated a hefty amount for victims of the Chennai flood.

Following in the footsteps of Shah Rukh and Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar too has extended a helping hand to the rain ravaged residents of Chennai. The actor donated Rs 1 Crore to help with relief work. Not being sure of the right way to go about it, he called director Priyadarshan, who in turn directed him to contact Suhasini Mani Ratnam. Following Suhasini’s suggestion, Akshay’s donation was transferred to Bhoomika Trust, a group that has been preparing and distributing food items since the day the disaster struck.
